Job Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Specification Sales Representative to join our growing team at Boston Light Source, a leading lighting manufacturer representative. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the lighting industry and a proven track record in sales. As a key player in our sales team, you will be responsible for growing our customer base, managing relationships with existing clients, and ensuring the successful promotion and sale of lighting products to commercial, residential, and industrial markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Growth & Client Acquisition:
    • Develop and maintain relationships with architects, engineers, contractors, lighting designers, distributors, and other key stakeholders.
    • Generate and follow up on project leads.
    • Deliver sales presentations and product demonstrations, highlighting the features and benefits of our lighting products.
    • Entertain clients both locally and during factory trips.
    • Provide ongoing support and follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve any issues.
  • Product Knowledge & Market Expertise:
    • Stay updated on the latest trends and innovations in the lighting industry.
    • Provide technical expertise on our product offerings, helping clients make informed decisions.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure product knowledge is up-to-date and aligned with market demands.
    • Meet or exceed sales targets and quotas.
  • Collaborative Teamwork:
    • Work closely with the rest of the sales team, contractor | distributor, quotes, and project management teams to ensure a cohesive and efficient sales approach.
    • Attend industry trade shows, conferences, and networking events to expand brand presence and stay current with industry developments.

Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • 3-5 years of proven sales experience, preferably in the lighting industry, construction, or a related field.
    • Experience working with manufacturers, distributors, and design professionals is a plus.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Strong understanding of lighting products, solutions, and applications.
    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
    • Proven ability to build relationships and close deals.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree, or experience in a related field.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Strong work ethic and self-motivation.
    • Results-oriented with a focus on customer satisfaction.
    • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage deadlines.
